If you told me 3.5 years ago that I would one day be starting my own business, I probably would have laughed and told you that you were lying… but here we are.

Over the years, some of my favorite memories have been made while traveling. Whether it was taking family trips to Disney, relaxing at a tropical resort, or cruising across the ocean. Travel has always been more than just a vacation to me… it’s been quality time, unforgettable experiences, and memories that last forever.

About 3.5 years ago, I decided to take a leap and help other families create those same kinds of memories. What started as a passion quickly became something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

Since then, this journey has challenged me, inspired me, and pushed me in the best ways possible. And recently, I decided it was time to take another leap. One that felt exciting, terrifying, and incredibly rewarding all at once.

So with so much excitement (and maybe a few happy tears), I’m officially introducing Salt & Compass Travel Co.

This business is built from my love of travel, connection, adventure, and helping others experience the magic of exploring the world. Whether that means a Disney vacation, a tropical escape, a cruise, or a bucket list adventure.

POV: concierge on Disney Cruise Line means your theater night starts before everyone else’s.

While the crowds were lining up outside, we took a secret elevator downstairs and got early access into the theater to pick our favorite seats before anyone else came in.

And yes… concierge guests also get popcorn included (I know it’s not technically “free” because it’s part of the concierge price, but still felt pretty magical not having to buy it separately 😅)

The best part? We grabbed complimentary cocktails from the concierge lounge and brought them right into the show with us. Every evening from 5–10 PM the lounge had complimentary drinks, so it honestly made Broadway style show nights feel even more VIP.

One things that clients always ask, is how easy it is to get from the airport to the ship?! Well let me tell you about this one!

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) is one of the MOST convenient cruise ports when it comes to Disney Cruises.

From the airport, you’re only about 10–15 minutes from the cruise terminals… sometimes even less depending on traffic.

That means:
✔️ Short, inexpensive transfers
✔️ Less stress on embarkation day
✔️ Easier travel with luggage
✔️ More flexibility with flight times

This is exactly why I recommend Fort Lauderdale so often to my clients!! You also have the gorgeous Disney Destiny as well as the Disney Dream to choose from, and a bunch of amazing itineraries!

Some moments we all stuck together, and those were so special. Other times, we split into smaller groups depending on rides, schedules, and energy levels, and honestly, that’s what made it work. Trying to do everything as one giant group? Not realistic. Letting go of that expectation? Game changer.

Traveling with a large group is all about flexibility, communication, and focusing on what really matters. Making memories together. And trust me, we had an absolute blast 💛

The only pic that our crew got together, and as you can see, it wasn’t perfect 😂 but we did it!!

The boys were playing football when all of the sudden, the ball went over the fence into the rocks right by the lake (where it’s Florida and alligators live).
So we went and got a cast member and they said
“someone will be over to help shortly”. We were all cracking up because we pictured someone with a pole, not a WHOLE PATROL BOAT! E
So lesson learned. Disney has a whole lake patrol to retrieve missing items!
